  • New Lutron Sensors for Better Lighting

Lutron Electronics, a global leader in energy-saving lighting control, has introduced two new Maestro Wireless in-wall sensors for its Vive line of simple, scalable, wireless lighting solutions.

These new Maestro Wireless in-wall occupancy sensors can seamlessly replace existing wall controls and communicate with the rest of the Vive system. Both dimmer sensors and sensor switch models are available. The new dimmer/sensor model unites the automated, occupancy-based control of light, manual dimming control, and wireless communication to the rest of the Vive system in a single device. The sensor/switch model gives automated or manual occupancy based control and wireless communication to the Vive system.

The new sensors also communicate with Lutron Pico remote controls or other Vive wireless sensors, making it easy to install additional wall controls without running new wire. Homeowners can use the sensors as individual devices or connect them to a Vive wireless hub to utilize system features like energy reporting and time clock control.

Lutron’s new Maestro Wireless sensors also provide the highly-requested capability for wallbox sensors that can be simply integrated into a Vive system. Today, your integrator can quickly install these upgrades, while also allowing for future expansions as the needs of your family and home evolve.

Like all Lutron sensors, both new sensors are highly sensitive and offer supreme reliability with Lutron XCT technology. You won’t see false “ON” events, or be left in the dark. The new sensors employ Lutron-patented Clear Connect wireless technology, which operates in an uncongested radio frequency band. This means the system communicates seamlessly, and provides consistent dimming performance without flickering or delays. And good news for you – other devices will not interfere with the Lutron lighting control system.

Lutron Electronics offers more than 15,000 energy-saving products, from dimmers to entire lighting management systems, sold in more than 100 countries. In the U.S. Lutron products save an estimated 10 billion kWh of electricity, or approximately $1 billion in utility costs per year.
