Tips From The Top

  • New tech to make your life easier

Our first goal as integrators is to make the lives of our clients easier and more enjoyable.

We love what we do. Especially when we get to see our clients’ smiles when they hear the incredible sound of their home’s new audio system. To hear about how much their integrated lighting system has improved their home’s aesthetic while also lowering their energy costs. And to watch them realize that their family’s new fully-integrated smart home platform improves their home’s comfort, security, energy costs, and control and is easy to use.

So you can see why we’re super-excited that one of our favorite technology companies – Samsung – has just launched new technology to help us do just that. This month, Samsung releases its new smart home platform – SmartThings Home Life – that will give customers a complete ecosystem of smart home technology.

Because what we all know – and what we see all too often when people come to us for the first time – is that, when smart technology is done in a haphazard way, the result is a lot of devices that don’t work together and a whole lot of frustration for the client. Smart home technology is supposed to make our lives easier, right?

    Right.

Samsung’s new platform gives home owners a way to have their smart devices fully connected and streamlined. The new service gives the home owner even more control via their SmartThings app, centralizing and integrating control of Samsung appliances. It’s now possible to fully integrate six SmartThings services – cooking, energy, clothing care, pet care, air care, and home care.

In July, its updated Family Hub will provide even more opportunity with new AI features to streamline daily tasks at home.

Samsung SmartThings is supported by more than 270 global partners, giving the ability to integrate with thousands of devices.

SmartThings Cooking connects devices to find recipes, manage shopping lists, set appliances and preserve food. The system can recommend personalized recipes and meal plans based on users’ tastes, dietary needs, and what’s in the fridge. SmartThings Energy gives real-time information on where and how energy is used within the home, allowing home owners’ to make the best decisions for energy management. Its AI saving mode automatically turns on the energy-saving mode on connected home devices, reducing energy bills and carbon footprint. SmartThings Air Care provides information about the air quality inside and outside of the home; users can then adjust the Bespoke air conditioners and Bespoke air purifiers. SmartThings Home Care monitors all connected Samsung household devices, collects usage data, and sends notifications about regular maintenance and replacing specific components.
