Tips From The Top

  • TV geeks unite!

Okay, we’re not shy about this: We totally geek out about TVs.

Home audio-video is why we got into the integration business in the first place, so we love to follow the tech developments of our favorite companies. It’s never dull, and nothing stands still for long.

Protecting our natural environment is another of our priorities. (We live in Jackson Hole, after all – one of the most beautiful places on the planet!) Smart home tech goes a long way towards supporting and preserving the environment, while also saving our home owners money through reduced energy costs.

So when one of our favorite A/V companies makes a new commitment to the environment, and gets recognition for it, we’re double-geeked.

Samsung Electronics has been the world’s leading TV manufacturer for 16 years in a row now. This year the company announced its “Together for Tomorrow” vision, committing to its role as a leader in the global community, creating a sustainable future and preserving our planet through collaboration

The company has committed to using 30 times more recycled plastics to produce its display products than it did in 2021. It will also expand the use of recycled materials in all its mobile and home appliance products by 2025. Its Eco-Packaging program – which lets customers upcycle packaging for TV products into furniture – has been upgraded this year with product packaging using 90% less ink and removing the staples. And its TV cardboard packaging contains a minimum of 50% recycled fiber content.

And Samsung TVs recently earned the ‘Reducing CO2’ certification from the Carbon Trust, which recognizes efforts to reduce the carbon footprint.

The Carbon Trust is a global climate consultancy dedicated to a decarbonized future. Its ‘Reducing CO2’ certification recognizes when a product’s carbon footprint is reducing year-on-year. It evaluates the amount of Greenhouse Gas generated throughout the entire product lifecycle using internationally recognized standards.

This year, 11 models across Samsung’s 2022 TV lineup, including three Neo QLED 8K models, three Neo QLED 4K models, two QLED models, two Lifestyle TV models, and one Crystal UHD TV model, received the certification by reducing the weight of the product and the power consumption during the use phase.

So the fact that these are some of the best TVs on the market today, and that the company who makes them are committed to protecting and sustaining our planet, make us very pleased to do what we do as integrators.

And we also get to geek out a little.
