Tips From The Top

  • Smart Home Solar

Our clients want the best in home technology.

From their home entertainment systems to their security systems to their lighting, they want to make sure their homes are operating at peak performance for their family’s comfort, security, and enjoyment.

Naturally, energy use is also a top priority for them.

Our clients value getting the most for the energy investments. They want independence and freedom – both for themselves and how they live. And they want to be able to monitor and control how much energy their home is using, and where it’s getting its power.

From what we’ve seen, solar has become an integral aspect of the integrated home.

If you’ve been considering the leap to solar, wishing you hadn’t missed the generous federal tax credits that were scheduled to expire – good news! Last summer, the single greatest investment by the U.S. government to combat climate change was signed into law with the Inflation Reduction Act.

Among other things, the infrastructure law granted a long-term extension of the investment tax credit, which originally prompted a huge demand for solar power in homes across the country. The original tax credit was set to expire. During its time, we saw many of our clients stepping up to the plate to transform their home’s energy use to solar. It saved them money and energy. It made their homes more efficient and more independent.

Now, the new law takes it even further. It grants a full decade extension for 30% of the cost of installed equipment to be tax exempt. In 2033, that will decrease to 26% in 2033, and 22% in 2034.

Bonus good news: that 30% credit also applies to energy storage, including retrofits of batteries to solar arrays.

A traditional solar powered system will provide electricity for your home. A smart home solar system goes to the next level.

A smart home solar system gives you the ability to see exactly how much energy your home is making. You control where and how the system is operating. With a single app, you can monitor and control your home’s energy production, its use, and its savings, from anywhere in the world.

All exciting news for our clients who value optimized energy use, living autonomously, and getting the most from their investments. (In other words, all of you.)
